The surgical suites at Premium Surgical Services Center are licensed by the State of Nevada’s Department of Health and are accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). These are full operating rooms offering general anesthesia. Since 2006, our surgeries have been performed at our modern, surgical center by a highly trained staff of professionals who are all certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
In 2006, this facility received accreditation by AAAASF. AAAASF accredited plastic surgery facilities are rigorously inspected and evaluated. A set of strict standards must be met which assure the patient of a commitment to safety and efficiency of the facility and equipment.
In 2010, Premium Surgical Services Center (PSSC) received the additional rare distinction of being licensed by the State of Nevada’s Department of Health as a fully licensed Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). Our licensed and accredited facility provides you with skilled and experienced plastic surgical care. Our highly qualified nurses will work with you before, during and after surgery to make you as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Usually, you will be able to go home two to four hours after the operation.
In order for a facility to be licensed and accredited, only Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who are eligible to perform plastic surgery procedures in an accredited hospital are allowed to obtain privileges. Such surgeons must also be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and comply with the code of ethics of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Certified personnel, including registered nurses, certified anesthesiologists and properly trained personnel are only permitted to work in these facilities. Together the staff members comprise a team that operate the facility smoothly and efficiently before, during and after your surgery.
State licensed ambulatory surgery centers (ASC’s) and AAAASF-accredited facilities must meet stringent requirements. We at PSSC are setting the standard for quality cosmetic surgery patient care in our community. There is more to having cosmetic surgery than just selecting your surgeon. Our licensure and accreditation help provide patients with the assurance of safety and quality in all aspects of their outpatient surgical care. To achieve this goal, every licensed and accredited ambulatory surgery facility must meet stringent national and state standards for equipment, operating room safety, personnel and surgeon credentials.

Mythbusters?

You’ve seen the headlines; you’ve watch the reality TV shows. But the fact of the matter remains – there are a good deal of misconceptions out there surrounding cosmetic surgery, and the media’s not doing anything to buffer them. Here are a few of our pet-peeves:

1. Silicone breast implant safety remains unproven: 16 years of testing have proven the implants safe, not to mention that everywhere women are asking for silicone over saline implants, even though they’re more expensive.
2. Cosmetic surgery is terribly painful: In fact, less than five percent of plastic surgery patients complain about pain.
3. Any board certification will do: Patients should understand that the only boards that test and certify cosmetic surgeons to the highest standard are the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology.
4. Only plastic surgeons can perform plastic surgery: Any valid M.D. can practice any field of medicine; that’s why it’s crucial to make sure your doctor is board-certified.
5. It’s disrespectful to ask a surgeon probing questions about his or her background: Not so! You only have one body; make sure you get the best surgeon for your body.
6. Surgery will make you look like someone else: Whether that’s a positive or negative assumption in your case, it is untrue. Cosmetic surgery is meant to reveal the best you, not a different you.

Got more? Throw them at us. We’re happy to answer any of your questions so that you have all the information when researching cosmetic surgery.

See more: http://www.yournewbodyblog.com/2008/07/top-ten-myths-and-misconceptions-about-plastic-surgery/

Preparing for Surgery

If you have recently decided to have cosmetic surgery – congratulations! We’ve seen the positive affect cosmetic procedures can have on patients, and we know you’ll love your results.

However, cosmetic surgery can be a big adjustment, and patients should know what to expect so they can prepare properly for their procedure. Your preparation now can help you avoid disappointment and enjoy your results.
First and foremost, cosmetic surgery candidates should have a strong self-image. While most patients are uncomfortable with one or more physical traits, they should still have a strong sense of self and healthy self-esteem regardless of their perceived “flaw.”
Secondly, candidates should define and manage their expectations well before the date of surgery. While you should expect a physical improvement, it is unhealthy to expect other aspects of your life will change dramatically. This can lead to post-operative disappointment and depression. Your primary motive for having a cosmetic procedure should be to improve your comfort in your own skin. After all, what’s more important than that?
Thirdly, be open and honest with your doctor – in regards to both mental and physical health. Thoroughly report any medications you’re taking or prior history of medical or psychological treatment.
Lastly, make sure you’re in a stage of life when surgery is appropriate. If you are currently dealing with stressful life changes or have recently experienced a traumatic event, it may be wise to wait until your situation is a bit more stable.
Still wondering if you’re a good candidate? We’d love to discuss it with you. Give us a call – We know you’ll love our services, and most importantly – your results!

See more: http://www.yourplasticsurgeryguide.com/checklists/emotional-changes.htm
